Meet Luke Turner, a student from North Hall High School who follows “carpe diem”, and never lets the room get dull. His father, Scott Turner, is an engineer who has influenced him to seize the day. His mother, Ashleigh, is a registered Nurse Practitioner and teaches Healthcare Science at Johnson High School. Luke loves to bowl and play golf with his parents, and says that they are “cool.”

What are you involved in at North Hall?
“I am the Vice-President of Hospitality for DECA.”
Tell me about you family
“My dad is very chill and he and I have a father-friend relationship. He takes us to Braves games and rides the boat with us sometimes. My mother is very clean and organized. She likes for everything to be very clean all the time. She’s very indoorsy and loves to spend her time inside all day. My brother really enjoys playing video games and that is what he does most of the time.”
Have you decided which career path you want to take?
“I want to become an engineer just like my dad. I’m intellectually gifted at mathematics and have experience from when I accompanied my dad to check sensors.“
What are some of your hobbies?
“I like to ride boats, dirtbikes, play basketball, and football. I also enjoy surfing, which I began to love when I went to California where there are big waves. I also like just going to the lake to hangout with my friends.”
How long have you lived in the North Hall community?
“I lived in North Carolina for a year and then I moved to Gainesville, GA. I plan on visiting probably, but I’m never going to move back.”
What is the most beautiful place you have ever been to?
“I went to the Gulf of Mexico and the beach was very pretty. The waves were huge and it was just very beautiful.”
What’s your favorite tradition at North Hall?
“I really enjoy the football games and the themes are very engaging. The students are very spirited and it is really fun going to the games and hanging out with my friends.”
What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“I really enjoy going to Dari Spot. I like their chocolate milkshakes, which are very good. It is a good place to go eat with my family or friends and the food is amazing.”
What is a memorable moment in your life?
“I really like going to the beach every year. Going to the beach with my friends is fun. The most memorable is going to the beach with Lonnie Macemore and we hung out.”
