Meet Dacen Cash! He is a baseball coach and teacher at North Hall High School. Coach Cash has been teaching and coaching here for 6 years, and loves to build relationships with students. Alongside his love of sports, he also sites coaching baseball as one of his passions.

Q: Please tell me about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
A: “My current career is a high school teacher with a Master’s in Special Education and a Varsity baseball pitching coach at North Hall High School. The thing that I love the most about what I do is the relationships that I create with my students and players and being a positive role model, especially for the kids that may or may not have anyone else like that in their life.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Taco Mac, Wild Wings, Longhorns, El Sombrero, Trueloves.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would want to go to Las Vegas because I’ve always wanted to go and I have never been.”
Q: What advice would you want to give people?
A: “My advice for people would be to never give up, no matter what you are going through or if someone tells you that you can’t do something. I always loved when someone told me that I couldn’t do something because it would make me more eager to do it. There’s a reason things happen the way they do in your life and if you stay the course and do the right things something good will come out of it most of the time.”
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today, that’s not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet them for lunch?
A: “Nick Saban because he is one of the greatest coaches of all time and I would to hear some of his ideas.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Married with kids and a head baseball coach somewhere.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To visit some iconic NFL stadiums and games and also visit some iconic MLB stadiums.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My students and my players because I know that they count on me on a daily basis. I would not want to let them down.”
Q: What are a few words or phrases you think about when you hear “North Hall High School?”
A: “Above and Beyond.”
