Meet Tanner Marsh! Tanner is a part of the NHHS Class Of 2024. Tanner is an outstanding student athlete and he exemplifies what it means to be a Trojan on and off the field. Having played football since second grade, Tanner is seeing the benefits of his dedication as he was recently nominated and voted SBLive’s National High School Athlete of the Week (Aug. 14-20), as well as many other local awards for his performance. Tanner has a sister who also attended North Hall and recently graduated from UGA and a brother who graduated from West Forsyth. Born in Atlanta, Tanner lived in Athens and Smyrna before moving to North Hall in 2013.

Q: What is your favorite sport or activity to watch or attend at North Hall?
A: “I love sitting in the student section at North Hall basketball games.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about North Hall?
A: “Just how everybody is really supportive and we have a great community behind us.”
Q: What is your favorite tradition at North Hall?
A: “Painting the tower.”
Q: Who is your favorite teacher or faculty member at North Hall?
A: “Coach Flow, because after every game that next Monday he’s always super excited and he just brings a good energy and vibe whenever I’m in a building with him.”
Q: Who is your mentor or role model? Or, who inspires you to be better?
A: “Definitely my Dad, because he’s always supported me through thick and thin. He’s always the first to text me after a game, even a bad game.”
Q: Tell us a little about your family
A: “My mom works for Northeast Georgia Health Systems in Business Development and my Stepdad works as an Investigator for the Hall County Sherriff’s Office. My Dad lives in Alpharetta, works for Oracle Software and my Stepmom is an Aesthetician. My sister lives in Buford and is getting married soon, during football season, and my brother lives in Pendergrass and works for a roofing company.”
Q: What are some of you hobbies or interests?
A: “I like to golf and hang out with friends and family.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I’d have to say Longstreet and Mellow Mushroom.”
Q: How long have you lived in our community?
A: “I’ve lived here since the second grade so 11 years.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met here in our community?
A: “Definitely Coach Pender, just cause like even though he came here halfway through my high school career he still has made such a difference. And I feel like he’s brought a new level of energy to our school.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Italy, just because that’s a place I really want to go and it’s just so pretty.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies or TV shows?
A: “For a TV show, I’d have to say ‘The Office’.”
Q: What advice would you want to give or leave with people?
A: “Work hard and believe in yourself.”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our Community?
A: “I think something unique about our community is that we can all unite as one and they’re so supportive of the high school and all the things going on in it.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Graduating college, and landing a good job in the tech industry.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Skydiving, it just seems like the adrenaline rush would be crazy.”
Q: Who is your go to artist when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: “Zach Bryan.”
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been to?
A: “Aspen, Colorado. I went right when they had a snowstorm and all the mountains were covered and it was just super beautiful.”
Q: Favorite Month? Favorite Holiday? And the best single day on the calendar?
A: “April, Christmas, and July 4th.”
Q: What three words come to mind when you think of North Hall?
A: “Tradition, Community, and Passion.”
