Meet Becky Martin! Becky is one of our wonderful lunch ladies who is always cooking up something great. She has been working in School Nutrition for 19 years been a manager for 16. She loves working in the kitchen, preparing and serving meals. Watching students get excited filling their trays makes her heart sing.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “Two children, Chezlee is 18 and she graduated last year, and Chase is 16. I’ve been married for 14 years.”
Q: Please tell us about your career. What do you love most about what you do?
A: “I love cooking. This is not a job to me, this is fun.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or shops in our community?
A: “All Restaurants. I love to eat. Right now I have been doing most of my shopping at Old Navy and Temu. I love clearance racks.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: “I grew up in Gainesville. My Dad has been working for Hall County for 50 years. I’ve been working for 19 years.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would love to go to Chicago, I would really like to eat at one of Michael Symon‘s Restaurants.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “I love anything Funny! Not really the same thing all the time. Rather listen to Old Time Country Music.”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Always try to make someone smile. A smile will go a long way.”
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “Michael Symon, any BBQ place. I would love to learn ideas and new recipes we could use at school.”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique you love about our community?
A: “All the farm land. Everything is green and beautiful.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Here doing what I love to do.”
