Meet Laura Drury! Laura is a teacher here at North Hall High School. Her and her husband are proud Kentuckians. They moved to Gainesville in 1987 to get closer to the beach, and fell in love when they saw Lake Lanier. She has three grown sons and one adorable 1-year-old grandson. Her youngest son is student teaching 8th grade science this year at NHMS. Her and her husband both taught at NHHS and have taken many students to Europe and Costa Rica over the years. She retired at the end of the year from Dawson County and was given the opportunity to return to NHHS as a part time Spanish teacher. She enjoys traveling and spending time with my family.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: “I have been married for 38 years and have 3 grown sons. My youngest is currently student teaching at NHMS in 8th grade science. Before retiring, I had taught Spanish at NHHS from 2006-2018. My husband also taught social studies and coached basketball and baseball at NH. He was there from 2006 – 2013. My husband and I are both from Central Kentucky and moved to Georgia in 1987 to be closer to the beach. We have loved living in Georgia and love the beach and the lake.
