Meet Alicia Brown! Mrs. Brown is a #Go2 for many at North Hall due to her enthusiastic personality and always being there for her students. She loves playing Pokémon Go and spending time with her dogs. She loves horror books and movies. Soon she will no longer be Mrs. Brown, but Dr. Brown.
We would like to thank Mrs. Brown for sharing her time with us and for being a mentor to many of our students.
Q: So tell us about yourself.
“I have been teaching here at North Hall for three years, but I’ve been a teacher for 10 years. I’ve always taught English and I do special education. I enjoy playing Pokémon Go. Spending time with my two dogs who are the light of my life. Their names are Emma Lou and Harley. Emma Lou is a pekingese and Harley is a lab hound mix.”
Q: When did you Graduate?
“I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from The University of North Georgia in 2009. And then in 2014 I graduated with my Master’s degree from The University of North Georgia. I’m currently working on my doctorate at Liberty University, I’ll be done in about a year.”
Q: What’s your favorite thing about North Hall?
“I like the community feeling that we have.”
Q: What’s your favorite tradition?
“I love Pep rallies, they’re my fave. I love when they encourage everybody and make everybody feel so positive and pumped.”
Q: Who is your mentor or role model?
“Ms. Owens. She tries really hard to make sure everyone feels included and she’s positive about everything that she can be.”
Q: Tell us about your family.
“I have one sister. She is 24. And she is going to be a nurse practitioner. And then my mom and my dad and sister live in Dahlonega. My mom is a nurse and my dad is a handyman. He owns his own business.”
Q: What are your hobbies and interests?
“Pokémon Go. Also good books like horror. Doing projects around my house. Changing light fixtures and doing landscaping and things like that.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“Texas Roadhouse and Chick-Fil-A.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“I want to go everywhere. I want to go everywhere and fill up my passport with stamps.”
Q: What’re your favorite movies and TV or TV shows?
“Right now I am re-watching The Walking Dead. I like horror. I like scary stuff. The Annabelle movies, American Horror Story, Stranger Things, and The Good Place.”
Q: What’s something on your bucket list?
“I think it would be really cool to sail. To sail around the world. I lied, I would hate that. I would feel like I was going to get eaten by a whale the whole time. Yes, exactly or like Moby Dick.”
Q: What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen?
“London.”
Q: What do you mean wait rate 10 out of 10?
“A massage.”
Q: What advice would you want to leave or give to people?
“When you face challenges here, when you face them. Just stay calm, and keep going forward.”
Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen…
“I don’t listen to music, I listen to audio books and radio talk.”
