Meet Gary Mintier! Coach Mintier is a Physical Education teacher at North Hall High School. He is currently the Defensive Coordinator for the football team and Head Boys Soccer Coach. Married to Candice Mintier of Racepond, GA for 14 years, he has four children: Austyn Cole 21, Tripp 11, Minka 1, and Sybil due Jan 31, 2024. Coach Mintier graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University in 2001, a Masters of Education from Troy University in 2008, and received an Education Specialist in Media & Technology from the University of West Georgia in 2022. He was born and raised in New Jersey where he played football, baseball, and basketball in high school.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “I am blessed to have my wife Candice and our 3 children Tripp, Minka, and Sybil on her way as well as my son Austyn Cole. We enjoy camping however it has been tough here lately as my wife has been pregnant or we have had an infant for sometime now.”
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do? OR why does that career interest you?
A: “I have been coaching and teaching for 20 years. I enjoy the grind of a season and finding ways to accomplish goals. I look forward to coaching my son and his friends down the road.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants or shops in our community?
A: “We enjoy Antebellum in Flowery Branch, the Biscuit Barn for breakfast and The Dari Spot.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: “I have lived in Hall County for 5 years and this is my second year at North Hall High School.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Paris -My wife and I went for our Honeymoon and it has a little bit for everyone. Great food, great art, most beautiful gardens and architecture.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “Favorite movie is Braveheart for many reasons. My favorite tv show is Downtown Abbey. That is where we got the name of our daughter arriving in January 2024, Sybil or ‘Sybbie’.”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!”
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “I would meet with George Washington the First President. He was a great leader and had great vision for our country. I would like to listen to any advice he could give me on being a better leader as well as father. I think Jaemor Farms would be a great place but I’m not sure if he has ever had pizza so we could meet at Sliced as everyone deserves to taste pizza!”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Coaching my son and a bunch of North Hall football players in The Mercedes Benz Stadium a couple weeks before Christmas!”
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of NHHS?
A: “Men Of Summer”
