We would like to thank Mrs. Hughes for her time.
Q: Please tell us about your current career and what you love most about what you do?
A: “I teach math, I’ve been teaching math for 11 years and I teach math so that I can have an impact on the next generation. Because I love math and because I want to have an impact on the next generation, I became a teacher.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I’ll still be teaching, and I hope to stay here, because this community means a lot to me.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I would like to take a trip to Europe and visit France since I studied France in high school. I would love to see all the architecture there and just things that I studied about, I’d like to see them in person. When I retire, I would also like to buy a beach house and live at the beach.”
Q: If you could choose anyone to eat lunch with, who would it be with and where would you eat?
A: “Well, I know where I would take them to lunch; Luna’s, it’s my favorite. It’s a kind of fancy cuisine, it’s where me and my husband go for our special date nights like our anniversary, birthdays, or homecoming. My husband and I actually went out for dinner before homecoming there. We try to always make that a fun date night.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Being married to Coach Hughes, 10 out of 10. He supports me in everything I do. He encourages me, he loves me well, he’s just the best, and I don’t deserve him.”
Q: What is your go to band to listen to?
A: “It depends on what kind of mood I’m in, but what plays the most at my house is probably worship music.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better and why?
A: “My colleagues, when I see them doing something really cool with their students it inspires me to be a better teacher, when I see them caring for students. It inspires me to care more. My kids definitely inspire me to be a better mom, they are so precious; I love them. I try really hard to love my kids well, to love my students well, and to do my best in whatever it is I’m trying to do. It is important to me to do things well.”
