Meet Dale Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher is not a new face to this community, living in Hall County for 20 years. He has been teaching at North Hall High School for 4 years and has an admirable passion for his students. He has 3 children and a 4-year-old granddaughter. Mr. Fletcher strives to beat his children in video games, loves decorating for Halloween, wants to take his daughter to Ireland, and claims that the most beautiful place he has ever been was Hawaii. Also, Mr. Fletcher enjoys listening to country music and in his own words, “I was country before country was cool.”

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

A: “About four years. So this is starting my 4th year at North Hall. I came after Thanksgiving 4 years ago. I transferred from LCCA.”

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?

A: “I love my students and I love watching them get included in the general curriculum with their peers and just seeing them thrive.”

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: “Well, I have to go down towards Gainesville a little bit. I like Texas Roadhouse, Señor Fiesta, and Longstreet Cafe.”

Q: What advice would you want to give or leave with people?

A: “Stay positive. When things get tough don’t give up and never give up on your dreams.”

Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

A: “Believe it or not I don’t have a favorite band, but my favorite artist is George Jones. I like all his songs. I’m country. I was country before country was cool. And I like Tom T. Hall, he’s a good one too. Tom T. Hall – I Care. I like that song.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

A: “Beating my own children in video games. If I can be them in a video game, that is 10 out of 10. But they slaughter me. One day I’m gonna beat them. One day.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: “Mrs. Ewing. She is always giving up her time and she is helping her students. She has chaos all around her when she is getting ready to put on a play but when that play comes together it is beautiful. So just how she deals with all the stuff that’s happening and how she gives up so much of her time is just an inspiration to me.”

Q: What are 3 words or phrases you think about when you hear “North Hall High School?”

A: “Tradition, respect, and caring. Which is part of our motto as well.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: “That would be Linda Whitehead, she used to be a para pro here, but she knows everybody in the North Hall community and she has ties to everything and everybody. So if you don’t know somebody, talk to Linda Whitehead. She knows them and she can tell you all about them.”

Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

A: “Jaemor Farms. I’ve seen them over the last twenty years because I’ve been in Hall County for twenty years. I’ve seen them grow, I’ve seen their business grow and I see how people are drawn to go there. It may be a business, it’s a farm, but it’s Hall County. It is something that people come here to go to.”

Q: In hard times we can sometimes see and recognize greatness in those around us. Hard-working. Positive attitudes. Helping on the front lines. Who is one of our local shining lights today?

A: “Mr. Cape, he works with Mr. Major in speech and debate. He’s always positive. He’s always willing to help students. Yet nobody knows what’s happening behind the scenes and what he and his family have to deal with. And he’s just an inspiration.”
