Meet Crystal Singleton, our new Art teacher at North Hall High School. She has been teaching for over 20 years. Mrs. Singleton has six children and nine grandchildren. She likes The Lord of the Rings, Mellow Mushroom, and wants to live in Hawaii.
We thank Mrs. Singleton for answering our questions.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “I have six kids and nine grandkids. My three older kids are adopted and I got them when I was very young so I have a lot of grandkids.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Right now it’s getting cold and I hate the cold so I’d probably go to an island like Hawaii. I want more sun.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “I’m like a fantasy type person so I do all the Marvel movies, like The Lord of the Rings. My family only really watches movies.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I have been teaching for 22 years in different places. I’ll probably keep going for another 10 but I always have some side art thing going on.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I want to go west. I have this whole dream of having one of those school buses and fixing it up and driving across the country.”
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “I went to Vancouver, British Columbia and it was pretty cool.”
Q: Favorite month? Favorite holiday? And the best single day on the calendar?
A: “I hate winter, but I like the holiday clusters of Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas. May 29th is my anniversary and almost always our first day of summer.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Mellow Mushroom, but my kids hate it.”
Q: Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?
A: “Dolly Parton, because she’s so over the top, I’m not, but I’d want people to think I was.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My students, I have a lot of really talented kids in my advanced classes, in all my classes, and they always inspire me with their creativity.”
